Life and legacy planning
Welcome To Our Customized Approach Providing Everything You Need In Estate Planning

step 1
Life and Legacy Planning Session
At our first meeting, you’ll leave feeling more organized and prepared than ever. We’ll put together a clear list of your assets so your loved ones have what they need in case of an emergency. You’ll also learn what the state has planned for you by default—and if that doesn’t align with your wishes, we’ll talk through how to create a plan that truly fits you and your family.
step 2
Review Plans &
Finalize Your Choices
After your planning session, we’ll send you a summary of all the important choices you made for your estate plan. This includes the people you’ve chosen to step in as guardians, personal representatives, powers of attorney, and trustees—plus any other key decisions we talked through together. You’ll have a chance to review everything and make any final tweaks before we begin drafting your plan.

step 3
Signing and Finalize Your Personalized Estate Plan
At your signing “ceremony” (yes—it’s official, but we keep it comfortable!), we’ll walk through all of your legal documents together and show you exactly where we’ve customized the language to reflect your family and your wishes.
step 4
Fund Your Living Trust
One of the most important parts of your estate plan is making sure your assets are properly titled and your beneficiaries are up to date to match your Will or Living Trust. We’ll walk you through exactly how to do this—for both what you own now and anything you might acquire in the future. Once your Living Trust is fully funded, you can feel confident knowing everything will be passed on to your loved ones just the way you intended.

step 5
Capture your
Legacy Interview
One of the key features of an estate plan with your Personal Family Lawyer® is our Legacy Interview process. We’ll provide you with a list of thoughtful questions designed to help you reflect on what you want to share with your loved ones—whether it's your values, life lessons, or personal wishes for the future. This is typically done as a video interview, but if you prefer, we can do an audio recording instead. It's a meaningful way to leave behind something truly personal for your family.

step 6
Prepare Your Key People for Your Plan
Once your plan is in place, it’s important to ensure that the key people you’ve named know exactly what they need to do—both in an emergency and when handling the ongoing administration of your estate. We help you provide them with the right information at the right time, so they’re prepared and never caught off guard if anything happens to you.

step 7
Ongoing Reviews
Throughout Life
Finally, what matters most to us is building a lifelong relationship with you. We understand that both your life and the law will change over time. Your estate plan isn’t a “one and done” task; it’s an ongoing responsibility to your family and loved ones. We’ll stay in touch with you, helping you stay informed about when life events or legal changes may require an update, so your plan is always current and ready when you need it.
